AhlulBayt News Agency - An Israeli settler was injured late Monday in a suspected stabbing attack in occupied Al-Quds (Jerusalem).

Israeli 0404 website claimed that an Israeli soldier was seriously injured after being stabbed by an unidentified young man in the Old City before fleeing the scene.

Israeli policemen rushed to the area in large numbers and carried out combing operations looking for the stabber, the sources added.

Israeli police spokeswoman Luba al-Samri said that an Israeli man sustained injuries after being stabbed in the Old City.

Al-Samri said that a knife was found on the scene, and that police were looking for the suspected attacker.

Following the attack, Israeli policemen carried out a large-scale raid and search campaign in the surrounding areas.

More than 200 Palestinians and almost 30 Israelis have been killed since the beginning of October 2015 when tensions spread in the occupied city of al-Quds (Jerusalem) after Israel imposed restrictions on the entry of Palestinian worshipers into the Old City, where the al-Aqsa Mosque compound is located.

The Mosque is Islam’s third holiest site after Masjid al-Haram in Makkah and Masjid al-Nabawi in Madina.
